For me, motivation comes from feeling successful. So one thing to try would be to set yourself super-small, do-able goals, and then really celebrate when you achieve them. I started a journey of cutting my body weight in half with "I will not go to the corner store for a cinnamon roll or Reese's this morning." I baby stepped my way into changing how I eat completely, lost over 130 pounds, and have stayed at goal weight for over a year now. My favorite resource on changing your life through changing small things is the book Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg: https://www.tinyhabits.com/

Community helps, so you are super smart to be checking on the community boards. If you think it might serve you, I will recommend the Fat2Fit group, one of the groups here on MFP. It's a monthly challenge and support group, super supportive. The challenge begins at the start of each month, but you could ask to join now, get placed on a team, and start being in the conversation now. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/114605-fat-2-fit-weight-loss-challenge-and-support-group

And if that particular group does not appeal -- keep looking for something that works for you!
