Everything is teaching us—begin imperfectly

I had a setback last night. Couldn’t sleep due to stress, ended up staying up until 4 am and binge ate some crap. Woke up not feeling great, but instead of berating myself, I approached it with curiosity. What were my triggers? What was I trying to avoid or fulfill? What could I try differently today so I don’t put myself in the same position today?

That approach was super helpful for me. I honestly tracked my binge food, ate well, drank my water and decided I would at least go walk on the treadmill in my garage. After a mile I felt great, so I ran the last two. This is huge for me. Sweating it out was glorious.

This nonjudgmental curiosity helped me get back up today. I hope it helps someone else today too.
