hi, all. i'm looking for a few MFP friends so we can motivate each other, not as cheerleaders but because we share fitness goals and ways of approaching all of this, and can appreciate each others victories and challenges. i'm comfortable whether you're more advanced than i am or less when it comes to fitness and weight goals. i was active on MFP in 2014 through 2016, then ran into some issues; i came back, but my account had problems so i created this new one.

about me - i'm 63, a vegetarian who plays bass, loves music and the great british baking show, which got me into making my own bread and family treats. i am into reading and photography, and my current goals are to redevelop strength and flexibility in my legs and to lose weight gradually and get my blood sugar back down. i used to love to work out, but after several injuries i have to approach workouts cautiously, which i do, but back in the day i loved working out and spent many happy hours in the gym doing resistance training.

i'm a firm believer in CICO (calories in, calories out), logging all my food, in working my way up gradually to create a lifestyle that makes me feel better and be stronger and healthier. walking can be great exercise, and so can pumping iron; while there's nothing wrong with beachbody or other similar programs, it's not my thing, but i'm happy to hear that you've found what works for you. after all, imo anything that makes one enjoy exercising is a plus!

so that's me. i'd love to get to know some people here, whether new to MFP or regulars, with similar perspective and goals, down to earth, not into quick-fix diets, who don't collect friends but want a few vetted like-minded people. btw, if you send me a friend request, be sure and include a message :)
