'sup?!

I'm new here. Me and my wife are spoony-parents of two spoony kids. I'm going through a type 2 diabetes prevention class, and thought to seek inspiration in the forums here after trying on my own (well, sorta... My wife is very supportive ☺️) for a few weeks and not really seeing the scale move.

What does "not really seeing the scale move" mean?

Some people see a quick drop due to water weight reduction. Others have to wait for the small fractions of fat pounds to add up enough to show up on the scale. If you start a new exercise program at the same time your body may retain water for muscle repair and inflammation.

Ultimately it is the total number of calories you eat in a day that matters for weight loss. If you are pre-diabetic then for health reasons the total net carbs may matter but the two are not the same.
