I'm on the home streatch to the goal weight - within that last ten pounds! But ...

I've been here before, and always, always crashed out. Sometimes its slipped back by another 25 pounds.

And once, I did make it, but somewhere inside knew it wouldnt' keep: I had been training for a run, and was feeling exhausted by it. It was like it was 'false', in that I had hadn't got there sustainably. And so, innevitably, that became self-fulfilling.

But this time, I am going to make it.

I. Am. Going. To. Effing. Make. It.

So I'm de-lurking and posting this up. To plant a flag. To make me commit.

Anyone else in the same place right now?

And if anyone knows any less famous inspirational threads on this topic, point me to 'em!

I would suggest you go to the Maintaining Weight subforum and read all the sticky threads at the top.

Maintenance is no different than losing, just a couple hundred calories more. So whatever you do to get that last seven pounds off? Expect to continue doing that.

I’m 11 pounds from my first goal and currently the lowest weight I’ve been in 10 years. I hit 20 pounds lost this morning and I really want to take a week and eat at maintenance for a break, but because I’m “close” I’m terrified I won’t get back to it, so I’m going to power through the best that I can.

I got a little wake up call this weekend, I tested my blood sugar and my fasting level was at 110 which is considered pre-diabetic (although no one would diagnose me on one reading). I have had gestational diabetes 3 times and have a family history of type 2 on both sides of my family, so while it would be very surprising for me to never end up with it, I want to delay it as long as possible, so I need to get more weight off.

    We can do this!
