Hey guys, so I been doing some research and I don’t believe someone that is fat can get into ketosis. It isn’t easy to get ketones in the body if someone is fasting or even cutting carbs. Someone that is in someone shape can have ketones in their body by cutting carbs. What do you guys think? If you cut any of the macronutrients someone will lose weight doesn’t mean ketones are in their body metabolizing thIr fat.

Scientists assessed the safety and success of the ketogenic diet on 27 morbidly obese people. Ketogenic diets which generally restrict carbohydrate intake to around 30g per day are very effective in lowering blood sugar levels and losing weight. They have therefore been the focus on several recent studies investigating their efficacy in treating type 2 diabetes and improving other aspects of metabolic health.2 -

Dietary fat doesn't have anything to do with ketones levels. More fat doesn't mean greater ketones. Its merely based on carb restriction. You can accelerate ketone production through fasting or carb depletion exercise/HIIT. Consuming copious amounts of fat om ketogenic diets is one of those myths (just like consuming high protein will hurt you).
Yes, morbidly obese people can get into ketosis. Their inability to do intense exercise might cause them to take longer but they certainly can get into ketosis.
What's even more important to note is that fat loss doesn't require ketosis. It only requires an energy deficit.5
