I do not do Shreds, but here is Dr Oz' favorite drink:
Dr. Oz Green Drink Recipe
2 apples, cored
2 big handfuls of spinach
1/2 cup of chopped parsley
1 celery stick, chopped
1 thumbnail length of ginger root, peeled
1 lemon - juice only (use peel slice for zest)
1 medium cucumber
Place ingredients in a blender, add 4 oz. spring water or a handful of ice cubes, then puree quickly for one minute. Makes two glasses of Dr. Oz’s green drink.
The green drink has a strong taste and if you are used to drinking soda or sweet tea, the taste will take some getting used to. Dr. Oz suggests adding other items at first to sweeten the green drink to your taste.
Green drink – Optional ingredients:
2nd cucumber
raw carrot
unsweetened fruit juice
banana
Happy drinking! :drinker:0 -
There's nothing wrong with eating late. There's no such thing as the 7:00 pm rule or 8:00 rule or whatever. Eat when you want. There's absolutely no evidence saying that eating after a certain time is counterproductive.
Don't worry about it! 0 -
Instead of expensive protein shakes. 8 ounces of skim milk and 2 tbls of choc syrup. Yummy and wow it powers you up after a workout.0

One thing that really works for me is to avoid carbs at night before bed. If I'm in a 3 hour or less window from bed, I try to go high protein/low carb and it's been a really nice change. If you're hungry - by all means eat something!0

Actually, it DOES matter what time you stop eating. The specific time varies for everyone, since each person has their own individual schedule. You shouldn't be consuming any food or drinks other than water approx. two hours before you will be going to sleep. Why? Because when you're awake, you are active and burning calories. However, if a person eats and goes to sleep soon after, they are not allowing their body to burn those calories, and consequently negatively affecting their weight loss. That is why it is important to add exercise into our normal daily activity. Exercise allows us to burn more calories than we've consumed and lose weight effectively.
Sure, no one should go to bed starving, so if this is a real problem, eat something light like fruit. However, try eating consistently throughout the day with moderate portions. Keep your metabolism boosted by eating every 3-4 hours, and keep a healthy balance of fats, fruits & veggies, and starches. If you do, you shouldn't be feeling famished before bed. Make your final meal a fulfilling one. Try not to make it too close to the time you will go to sleep, but also not too far from the time you will go to sleep. 2-3 hours is adequate. It will allow your body time to digest, and stay active so you can burn those cals. Hope this helps, and Best of Luck to you and ALL my fitness pals.0
