Food to beat Sugar crash

So one of my many areas to improve on is my "quick fix foods" you know the ones, mid morning energy slump because all you have for breakfast was a coffee and sugary cereal.... or the afternoon crash so reach for the pastries etc etc.
I'm slowing improving my habits - for breakfast now I try to have porridge (made fresh from whole oats) or a high fibre cereal. on the mornings I have time to "cook" a breakfast I'm trying to have poached eggs etc.
however, I am still finding that I'm having a real crash around this time of day and later in the evening. I know its a gradual fix and being that I have spent the last 5 years + using coffee and chocolate (or similar) to get me through the day , I wasnt expecting a healthy breakfast to fix everything :-)
Long rambling story later - what are your go-to pick healthy pick me up for energy? I'm not really keen on nuts etc but willing to give them a try in recipes etc.
thank you x

I try to make sure I get plenty of protein for breakfast. Oatmeal does not fill me up. Boiled eggs and/or Greek yogurt do. Boiled eggs are easy because you can prepare them ahead of time and they are ready when you are no cooking in the morning required.1

I eat skyr yogurt for breakfast, usually with protein powder and fruit. I only eat breakfast at 9.30am, so I only need to bridge 2.5 hours, but I've never had a mid morning crash.3

A boiled egg. I boil two eggs in the morning, leave them in the fridge and have one mid morning and one mid afternoon.2

If it's a sugar crash, definitely consider protein. You might be able to avoid it in the first place by having more protein at breakfast.2

I have found if i eat oats, even with protein in it, i tend to get hungry. I found that switching to an omelet with veggies, chia pudding or Greek yogurt with protein and fruit hold me over more. It might be worth changing up your meals to see if you can find something that is more filling.4

Have you had your blood sugar checked recently?
How much weight are you trying to lose and how fast?
Are you exercising and, if so, are you eating back exercise calories?0 -
@NovusDies I haven't had a blood sugar check ever really.... Except maybe when I was pregnant but that was last 3 years ago.
Overall I'm trying to lose 50lb and as for how fast - I don't have a timescale just that's the goal.... It takes what it takes to get there.
Rugby training has started back up this week for me but I've been like this thoughout lockdown (and for as long as I can remember before) and Im not sure about eating back the calories but I know I have been eating too much overall so I would say I am eating them back?
Thank you to everyone who has offered advise I will try the suggestions x x0
