coffee to water

I wanted to share a nifty trick I found for reducing coffee and increasing water intake.
I’ve been dropping an unbrewed coffee bean in my water thermos every day. The bean is delivering enough flavour to get me through five refills (10 cups) a day and when I have “real” coffee I’m not using as much cream and only half a sweetener, and it’s a lot lighter on the stomach. It’s also easier on the wallet.
Sincerely, A random coffee lover

Ooof... It couldn't be me.
Glad it's working for you though!3 -
I’m sorry...one bean of coffee dropped in water? How would that change the flavor at all? (Am I missing a joke maybe 😂)2

What about the caffeine? Do you eat the bean at least? That wouldn't work for me3

22 beans, crushed and soaked in hot water, not quite boiling is perfect for me. JMO😝4

My coffee has plenty of water in it (more than 99%, according to the USDA nutrient database). I drink it unsweetened always, and usually black (although I do like the "cold foam" you can get at Starbucks), so I guess it's "lighter on the stomach" (and wallet).6

No joke. Drop it in and let it set for 5 minutes and you’ve got flavour. So far it’s worked with medium roast and flavoured.0 -

Glad it is working for you OP.
Fellow coffee drinker here and no intentions of reducing it.
I do drink water every day too plus several cups of weak coffee - 1 level tsp instant coffee, small amount of milk, no sweetener. About 20 calories per cup.
A bought cappuccino, unsweetened, from time to time too.
Since I like cofffee and the amount of calories fits easily into my allowance and the amount of caffeine is causing no issues and the cost is minimal - it ain't broke and I don't need to fix it.
But if you have a reason to reduce coffee - good luck to you.5
