3 pounds 80/20 ground beef. Browned, drained & rinsed.
Sauce:
175 grams sugar (I actually used a 0 cal sweetener this time, hubs did not notice) <recipe originally called for 2 cups which is 200g, but I think that makes it too sweet
2 cups ketchup
2 tsp dry mustard
2 tbsp vinegar
3 large green onions (500-600 grams)
3 medium white onions (450-500 grams)
Salt & black pepper to taste.
Put everything for the sauce thru a blender/Ninja until smooth. Pour over the crumbled meat and simmer on low, covered, 30 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Then simmer a few minutes more uncovered, stirring constantly.
I eat this with a fork. 300 grams cooked weight for 465 calories approximately was a generous serving. Note: the specifics depend on how much water you cook out. I leave mine a bit moist. This is MUCH better than anything out of a can.
