So its only been 2 days, but I am back in the gym. Getting my exercise in. It is not as much as before and I am still hesitant to do anything with my back just yet, but cardio and chest and arms have felt great. My eating habits are leveling back into a healthier mode as well. Like I said 2 days, but the routine feels nice again. Does anyone have suggestions on ab workouts for someone who hasn't worked abs in a while. The routine I did tonight I wasn't able to make it through and felt like my abdomen gave up 3/4 of the way through. Anyway just figured I would update, and maybe help someone else get back to it. Cheers peeps.

@TxmetalmedicTX2099 Tex is back in biz. Excellent. I don't have any ab workouts but the others will. So long now, Tex.

Boom! Back at it. Life’s full of ups and downs and that’s fine. Good for you for being persistent. As for core stuff, I’d be careful since you’re recovering from a back injury. My go to is always fitnessblender. Those two have everything and it’s free. Check out this video (they have a lot of other core workouts too but this seems appropriate).

Seeing as your abs and back work in tandem (well, your entire body works in tandem but I'm alreay digressing), please consider seeing a sports therapist, physiotherapist or any credentialed physical trainer your gym may offer before doing even semi-deep core work.

They'll give you a progressive plan adapted to your needs @TxmetalmedicTX2099

  • I have consulted professionals, and am cleared for what I can tolerate at this time. I was encouraged to begin working on core to support my back. As you are correct they do work in tandem, as does whole body. 😉
