Go to the swimming pool if you can. You'll be invigorated, revitalized and energized when you get out, Sister.

I didn’t start exercising til I lost 40 lbs. you can choose to start focusing on food alone if you feel that’s an easier route! (I couldn’t STAND exercise. It took me months and months to finally become ready to start adding more purposeful activity).

If you feel you must add movement right now, start with the easiest thing you can think of. For me, it was parking 10 min further away from work, and getting in 20 min of walking per day through that alone.

Walking 5 min a day is a good place to start!

Firstly, weight loss is at least 80% food rather than exercise. If you're struggling that much then just focus on eating healthy for now, when you start to drop the pounds then you may find you have more energy naturally.

Secondly, the main thing for me was finding exercise that worked for me. I can't do the gym, it bores me to tears, but I enjoy swimming, dance classes and walking when it's nice. Picking activities I enjoy helps me feel more motivated to do them - although there's always going to be those days when you just can't be bothered lol.

Have you gone thru the process of setting up a weight loss plan on MFP? If not, there is no time like the present. Enter your stats, choose your activity level and set a goal to lose 1.5 pounds per week. Then accurately and honestly log the food, drinks you consume. The calorie goal that MFP gives you: includes your deficit. You don't have to exercise in order to lose weight.

This does mean making changes. Some ideas for how to start:
    1. Do you currently drink calories? Drink more water, less other things.
    2. Eat less fried food, more baked/grilled.
    3. Decrease portions of higher calorie items like starchy sides, increase portions of vegetables and lean meat.
    4. You can have 'treats' but need to budget them into your day and account for them.
    5. If you have trigger foods - things you have trouble eating just a little - then don't have them around you.

Exercise has benefits such as heart and lung health. And in general, moving more is not a bad thing. Perhaps focus on food/nutrition for now - but also set small goals to move more. Maybe look up some stretching exercises to do a few times a day.

If you have been "always tired" before even starting weight loss then you need to see a doctor.

After you get checked out by a doctor then work on getting yourself into a calorie deficit. Plan on starting exercise once you can achieve the desired deficit without feeling hungry except shortly before meals. If you struggle with hunger and you are attempting to eat the correct number of calories for yourself (go through the MFP guided set-up) then come back and ask for idea you can try to get it under control.

Exercise is important for fitness and health. It is not necessary for weight loss. Exercise is a habit and since it is a habit you need to try and form it under better conditions. If you try to form a habit when you are already miserable that is how your brain will associate doing exercise.

Hey All, I understand the feeling of being tired. I often wake up feeling too tired to exercise or am feeling too tired after work, but even a short walk daily can help you get started on your fitness journey. One thing I found helpful is finding a podcast I really enjoyed and listening to that on my walks, it makes the distance and time go by quickly!

Sister, are you still here. Start with your blood profile and check your blood glucose. When it's out of whack you have fatigue and little energy.

Two things that could help.. Drink water.. you could be dehydrated and it fatigues a person. I also read once.. that when you're tired.. start moving and your energy will return. I do this..and it works. Just go for a short walk..even just around outside of your house.

I will say.. when I also get very tired when I'm not eating enough calories...

I started out at 275lbs. You can still lose weight without exercise, you just have to watch your calories. But exercise does help a bit, just start off small. I don't like to exercise, but I still try to walk around my neighborhood at least once a week (better than never). Good luck, you can do it!!

Sluggishness usually depends on the types of food that you are consuming. High calorie meals high in sugar and fats will trigger a blood sugar spike. After your blood sugar comes crashing down it will leave you tired, sluggish, and hungry. That hunger usually will come with cravings of high caloric meals filled with fat and sugar. If you are prone to overeating you will usually consume way more than you need and that is how you gain weight.

Most snacks and fast food are designed to please all our taste buds at once. All of them perfectly engineered to make you crave them. After a while we become so used to eating them that actual food becomes bland and tasteless.

If you're not already following healthier food options I strongly suggest that you do. Give yourself 30 days without processed sugars and fast food and you will see the difference. Not only will your energy levels change but you will also have a different perspective. Good luck!
