Hey guys, Is there a target weight gain or time period to bulk up before you cut or is it whatever you feel like it?

Lol that’s cool, guess if you can’t stand anymore then you’ve gone too far 😄

I did some googling and most of the sources I found recommended no more than 20% body fat for health reasons.

I think though that it really is going to vary individual to individual.

The gaining weight and body building section might be a better place to ask this question if you haven’t already done so

For me... none. I am 48 and have no interest in flirting with this strategy. I'll increase carbs and protein for focussed results but would not call it a bulk.

Whenever you are happy with your muscle gained, your bodyfat is getting too much for you, or you need to cut down for a show/season/vacation. You can also do a mini-cut to defluff then resume bulking.

There's some research that suggests beyond 15-18% body fat bulking is less efficient where fat gain outpaces muscle. Hence typical bro-science guidance is cut to 10% or less, bulk to 15%.
