I just want some people to talk too. I don’t have that many friends. People don’t understand me that much but that’s okay!😊

Just anything.1

Howdy, welcome.3

Hi, thanks.3

Ooo, Lyndseylee. Put it on a boat and let it sail away. Put it on a train and let it pass you by.
See @brustmannzwei, he doesn't let the little things get to him and I don't either. We're both opinionated but we are brave and strong. True grit. Now you've got some friends in high and low places. Blame it all on my roots, I showed UP in boots and ruined your black tie affair. I like milling around and shooting the breeze, shooting straight from the lips.5 -
Hi there @lyndseylee143 👋🏿2

Hey @MaltedTea2

As you become more familiar with the forums, you're sure to find plenty of understanding, friendly folks in every thread (as well as in private messages, if you're in to that).
Welcome aboard! 🤗3 -
@MaltedTea Thank you!❤️2

I feel ya broette. People don’t get me either sometimes. I have a very dry sense of humor most of the time and come off sounding like an uncaring douche. While that may be true sometimes, I can actually be sorta nice, compassionate, and empathetic. There just seems to be this disconnect between the words I mean, the words I say, and what others hear.
I like communication methods that allow me to edit the messages spitting out of my brain. The first draft is rough, second draft is usually deliverable, but the final draft routinely needs further edits.
Oh, and in person I’m normally like meh, you don’t like what I said eff it.
^ see, edit. 🙂6 -
@brustmannzwei, in person I’m quiet. I’m not that social in person.5

Generally speaking, I stopped editing myself. I'm always speaking in general and rarely address anyone directly. What's good for the beehive is generally good for all of the bees. You get in there while the gettin' is good and speak your piece then buzz on out of there.
There's only choices and consequences. The more stress we throw ourselves into we broaden our experiences to deal with them in the future. Even in the middle of something absolutely awful we will benefit in the future from our hard earned knowledge. We take a lickin' and keep on tickin', clickin' and clackin' down the railroad tracks. Then someone gets the hook and we do a little softshoe off the stage.2 -

You are speaking our language. I have found there are some great people here in the forums. Talk away Lyndsey, talk away.

@lyndseylee143 Hi there! What's on your mind? How are you feeling? Did you do anything fun with your weekend?3
-
I had a carload of company that blew into the driveway over the weekend. They've been traveling all over the country and decided to land here. It's typical. I live out in the middle of somewhere that's quite beautiful and everyone expects you'll be the Bed & Breakfast. Just someplace to hole up for the night like a bunch of gophers. Of course, expectations are always high that you'll be thrilled to be used for a laundromat and a flophouse with all of the amenities of home. That ain't me, babe. That ain't me.
So I cleaned house and threw supper on the table. I pulled out of the driveway as they were pulling in. I told them to enjoy themselves and that I would come back to clean up all of the mess when they were gone. I did it and I make no apologies. They sure weren't thinking about me and the folkaronies. No, siree.
They're gone now and I'm back in biz. Hope there won't be anymore surprises but I'll run away from home and they'll have to figure it out. I don't really drink but this song, @lyndseylee143, creatively communicates how I really feel.
Steel Blossoms
You're the reason I drink
You're the reason I throw a couple back
You're the reason my new best friend is Jack
I ain't pourin' all my problems down the kitchen sink
You're the reason I drink

Welp, I can’t get a pic of my current starlight view but here is one that we could look up at chillaxin out back next to a bonfire with all our friends.

Am also quite new here and my initial impression is, ppl in the community are so friendly and encouraging and am so happy to be here.. am sure you will feel the same way too ..4 -
@lyndseylee143, you sound very genuine and sweet natured. You also sound like an introvert which I COMPLETELY identify with. I’m pretty awkward in social situations unless I have a few drinks before I walk in so I tend to avoid all parties!! This COVID situation has not been an adjustment for me, put it that way, so I hope you are feeling more normal with each response coming your way! 😉3

@steph6556, thank you!😊1

Sometimes I don't think of anything at all, and some people think that's weird. Am I not allowed to empty my mind? Thats why I go out on the bike 🚴. It's such a great stress reliever. I often feel nobody is listening, so I tend to retreat and say to myself "sod it,what's the point?"
You're not on your own3 -

Definitely an introvert here! I have a lot of solitary hobbies, so I think I was built for social distancing!6 -
Solitude keeps me sane. It's people that drive me crazy because I end up expecting too much. Give me nature, beautiful scenery, calm and quiet over yacking endlessly, yelling, cursing about the small stuff, invading my quiet space.
Ommmm3 -
@seepersaud and @ReenieHJ, hello fellow introverts! People drive me nuts too, haha! Actually, it’s not PEOPLE so much as it’s my not being able to comfortably be around them without looking like I’ve got ants in my pants and need to bolt! I get sooooo anxious just thinking about what to say.... anyway, no need to vent more. Just saying hi and I SEE you! Thanks for outing yourselves with me. We need an entire thread for introverts!!4

I'm shy, I damn sure am.
I reckon that I should change my screen name to 'WallFlower".
You have no idea how long it took me to build the courage just to post on this thread.4
