Protien

I am looking for suggestions on how to get more protien without breaking the colorie bank. I try to eat more whole/fresh foods, so protien bars are usually a no (also 200+calories is a meal, not a snack for me). I have already heard boiled eggs, egg whites, nuts, chicken. Looking for anything else now.

This website allows you to search for food containing any type of macro or micro nutrient, I set it for protein.

For breakfast I usually eat a cup of Chobani non fat greek yogurt. 140 calories and I think 27 grams of protein. Then I'll sweeten it with stevia or some protein powder and add fruit and whatever else.
I used to have a hard time getting all my protein in for the day. You could also eat a little more meat than you do now. Have you thought about protein shakes? Depending on what powder you use you can get around 25 grams of protein for under 200 calories and they are a really quick and easy way to get protein.0 -

Idk if you'd be happy with this, but Syntha-6 protein shake. Tastes like ice cream, 200 cals, lots of protein and other good nutrients. )0 -
Lean meat (beef, port, poultry, fish, game, shell fish, etc)0

I eat at least 10oz of chicken or some other meat a day0

I love mixing vanilla whey protein powder, great northern beans out of can, rasberries(or whatever fruit), and I sweeten with a tsp of natural raw honey. I will have to look up protein, but it is a lot and fiber and iron, and delicious to boot!0

Greek yogurt, quinoa, dark leafy vegetables (Broccoli and spinach, etc), soy, cottage cheese, peanut butter, milk, tempeh, seitan0

I eat a Pure Protein Bar for breakfast, 200 calories and 20 grams of protein and it actually tastes good. Pure Protein makes a few different flavors0

I eat a lot of chicken sausages - generally lower cal than other meats while also being very tasty. I also end up eating lots of lunch meats - I've grown to love slices of ham slathered with mustard. But I almost always end up resorting to protein powders to hit my goal.0 -
Scallops! Seafood in general is a fantastic source of low cal protein but scallops are particularly good. 100g serving (about 7 large scallops) has 12 g protein, .5 g fat and 3.2 g carb for 69 calories! Saute them with lemon and some paprika and throw them into a salad - yum!0

How many meals a day do you eat if one meal is only 200 cal?
Its not that most meals are 200cal, but when breakfast is 300 and lunch is 400 to allow for a 500-600 cal dinner I can't blow 250calories on a protien bar for a midmorning snack.0 -

OK that makes sense.
Give some thought to whey shakes, definitely one of the cheapest and lowest cal ways to get protein in - usually around 100 cal for 25g protein.0
