Hair loss

I've had a couple of episodes of very rapid weight loss (exercise + too tired to eat) interspaced between weeks of heavy binging this summer (its been an incredibly stressful summer). Overall i've lost a little weight (when the bloat goes down). The only massive issue I notice is that my hair has really thinned out. Has anyone else experienced this kind of hair loss with weight loss and should i take some sort of vitamins/eat certain foods to prevent this? (the next couple of months are again going to be heavy for me exercise wise and limited food on offer but i can maybe bring a few "snacks" with me (there are no stores where i am going))

I second the above. So many people complain about hair loss if they cut their calories too much. It takes awhile to reverse the trend. If you need to lose weight you need to do it slowly and consistently for your health. If there are no stores where you're going, you're going to have to plan well. Good luck.

If you body is deprived of nutrients over time, through something like extreme calorie restriction, it focuses the nutrition it gets to vital organs. Hair is not one of them. You consistently need enough calories, iron, and protein (among other things) to avoid hair loss during weight loss.

Pleas be aware that the damage typically takes time to show. And can take an even longer time before you see the damage reversed.

Please take care of yourself! 💗
