Starting over...again

Hi! I am 41 years old. I have been on this weightloss journey off and on for my entire life. I have managed to lose 50+ pounds 3 times in my life, but eventually, I always get tired of all the counting and tracking and fall off the wagon and the weight creeps back up again.
I think I've come to accept that I will always struggle with this. I will probably always be overweight. That said, I want to get healthier. I want to focus not so much on the weight loss, but on better nutrition.
I am addicted to sugar. That's hard to admit, but it's true. I've seen my cravings for sugar drastically reduce when I stay away from it for a while so I know I can work on this, but I never seem to stick to it for long. I feel like I'm allowing sugar to ruin my health and I feel so defeated.
I don't think I can do this on my own.
But I'm here. Trying again.

Hi Amy, I too have been on this journey since "forever" and need to take action today. I lost 20 lbs last year and since last December, gained them all back. I'm an emotional eater and would love some support. I'm feeling pain in my joints from my sugar binges and know it's the cause of me feeling so miserable. Sugar binges...twice a month (hormonal I would say) but I'm trying over and over again to stay on track. If you want a buddy, here I am cause I could do with one. Be gentle with yourself and we shall beat this one day at a time. Have a great day!

Hi! I'm Connie and I'm renewing this commitment "one more time." It's a journey that is relentless. I do very good for a while and then fall off the wagon again. And on top of that, now I'm diabetic. One year ago yesterday I was 16 pounds lighter.
I've got to get a handle on this before it takes me down, literally. I can't give up!!! I want to live.
So happy to find this group. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!2 -
Hi Connie, I think we can relate indeed and my mantra is "Health is Wealth" yet I seem to abuse my body over and over again...you'd think I had learn the lesson yet ...ugh. I know it's the roller coaster of life but I just want to get off it for the last time. If you need some support I'm happy to listen, and be here for you. Time to start living life to the fullest, right? have a great day! cheers Maureen (Moe)1

Thanks for this post Amy. I am addicted to sugar as well. For me it’s been a very serious addiction that seems to get worse over time. I am sending you all friend requests. 😊1

Me too girl! Everyday is a new day. A year and a half ago I was in the best shape of my life. I had to restrict so much and I do not want to do that again it is NOT maintainable. I am here to make better choices but still live life. It will be slower I am sure but just going to show up daily.2
