like so many I have put on loads of weight over the last 6 months and its affected my health. Just been diagnosed with Hypermobile ehlers Danone syndrome and have insomnia and fybromyalgia plus getting more tests. Have my sons wedding next year and so need to loose nearly 4 stone. Really need support and ideas as really struggling with any exercise at the moment

Hi Darleen! Welcome to the MFP forums.

Beyond fibromyalgia, I'm unfamiliar with the condition you've been diagnosed with so wouldn't venture to suggest activities.

That said, have you let your healthcare team know your rehabilitation/fitness goals? If not, they may match you with a physiotherapist or occupational therapist to get you started on a program you'll like!

I will be getting physio and OT and have had Fybromyalgia for 17 years and always had other but didnt have a diagnosis. I know what I can and can't do but too sore at the moment. What i struggle with is actually getting my weight off. Have been going to slimming world and even when been really good only lost 1 or 1/2lb or stayed the same.

Weight is lost through food control. Exercise can help compliance but it should be mainly in support of fitness goals not weight goals.

Go through the MFP guided set-up and set it to lose 1 to 1.5 pounds per week. I would start at 1. Get a calorie goal and then try to stay around that number most of the time. When you feel able to exercise then eat enough to fuel that additional activity.

Spend your first few weeks learning how to log properly and eat in a way that controls your hunger most of the time.
