Net carbs or carbs?

When tracking my macros, is it better to track carbs or net carbs? I mostly follow a high protein, low carb diet & have about 50 lbs to lose.

Better in what way, for what purpose?
If ketosis is important to you, net carbs is what you want to track (from what I've read).
Otherwise, I don't think it matters much. For weight loss, calories in and calories out are what matters.1 -

That site is not owned by myfitnesspal. The site offers some add-on apps that include a net carb calculator.

It's really up to you. I think fiber is important, so I would track carbs and fiber and just do the math, but whether you should be concerned with the total carb number or the net carb number depends on your goals. Ketosis is based on net carbs. When I was just eating somewhat low carb, I looked at total carbs but also made sure to meet or exceed my fiber goals.1
