I have lost 88 lbs over the last 11 months. I'm going for 100. My concern is I still "see" myself as weighing 244 where I started.
I think in the past this has made it easier to gain the weight again.
, because I don't really see the changes.
Anyone have any success figuring this out?
Thanks

That part is more inner work. You have to build your self esteem and self confidence. Doing things that challenge your belief in yourself. It helps us to see our outter match our inner self. It takes adjusting mentally especially if you always been heavy. I’ve always been heavy so when I got smaller and I see I fit into things I thought it won’t fit me bc I always had a difficult time in the change room trying out clothes bc they nearly always never fit

Ohhh I so remember this feeling. I too started at 244lbs. Lost over 100 and that was six years ago. For at least the first year I could not see or accept the weight loss. I was still buying clothes that were too big for me. Actually, I avoided buying clothes all together for the longest time. I was always on the heavy side growing up so having a small figure felt strange. I look back at photos from shortly after losing all that weight and can't believe I thought I was fat. It takes time and you really have to get to know your body again. Maybe even focusing on interests outside of food and weight would be beneficial. I wish you luck! 💟

It took about a year and a half before I stopped seeing that person in the mirror.

The fear that I’ll see her again? That never goes away.

So I keep my fat clothes in case I need them again although I don’t want to need them again. Sometimes when I feel like I’m still really fat, I’ll put on a pair of size 20 jeans and see how big they are on me now (down to a 14 almost a 12). It helps me realize how far I’ve come and reminds me not to give up.
