So, I'm a 32 yo female, have 2 kids under the age of 7, and can not lose this tire around my middle. I hate to exercise, but I know it's really the only thing that will tone up my body. I currently weigh 145, which is right on the fence of being overweight for my bmi. I hate looking at myself in a swimsuit, and I don't wear shorts very often b/c I have the thunder thighs. And although I know I'm not FAT, I miss being the skinny girl I used to be before children. I don't eat that much, really, and I avoid high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, sucralose, and hydrogenated oils like they're the plague. No soda, no coffee (anymore), and I'm trying to consume more water - but it's hard. I'm wondering if I have some gastrointestinal problems as well, since I tend to be quite gassy and suffer IBS symptoms. I hope this system works for me....I used weight watchers several years ago, and it did help, but I tried it again, and with kids it's too time consuming. Plain counting calories seems easier, I think. So I'm going to give this a whirl....

I hear you about the tire!! This website is easier to me than Weight Watchers... it is much easier to count calories then try to figure out points. :)

As for the exercise, take it a day at a time. It will be easier that way and maybe you will hate it less. :) Try finding a sport you enjoy too that will help. Congrats on making the first step here though.
  • Last year a lot of the inches I lost were from the abdomen. I started with 4 sets of 6 mins of exercises (pushups, crunches, lunges, back extensions). Now, when I make excuses or don't 'feel like it' I convince myself to do only _one_ 6 minute set because it is better than nothing. Sometimes I get motivated just being on the floor doing the exercises and keep going for 2 or 3 sets.
Don't overdo at first - or you will give up in frustration.
I'm here because I need the accountability.
