Detox/cleanse/etc are all scams. As long as your liver and kidneys are working, there is no need of a detox (and if they.aren't, you need a dr and not a detox).

Detoxes are frowned upon here. They are completely useless and can ruin your health. People have reported going to the emergency room or being stuck in the bathroom for a couple of days. Just plug your stats into MFP, get your daily calorie goal, buy a digital food scale, weigh and measure all food and drink and stay within your goal everyday. That's it. Read the helpful posts for ideas and the success stories. Good luck.

    Hi guys,

    Welcome to MFP @paddycake27 .

Detoxing is important if one is toxic as some are at some level. Man in a general sense comes with built in detox systems if we can find and consume a balance diet.

It is true packaged detox kits can be scams or be of value in some cases.

You may want to get an annual health exam and go over your lab report with a doctor. One's mineral levels are key for our nature provided detox systems to work effectively.

We know dying from Covid-19 is more likely if our Vitamin D levels are in the dumps but fewer know without good Magnesium levels taking Vitamin D3 may not raise our Vitamin D levels. Magnesium is a co-factor in 300+ processes required for good physical and mental health you will quickly learn.

Today we know most people with health issues like high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancer, dementia, etc are so in part due to a lack of Magnesium in their diets.

Specifically since diabetes is one side known effect of long term low Magnesium levels you may want to read about Magnesium for the next 6-12 months from published research magazines that are only a few key strokes away. Just by learning why people are dying due to lack of getting Magnesium into their blood stream will lead you to more and more info on how the human body comes with built-in detox systems.

I find the key is to divide and conquer when it comes to resolving my personal health issues after I got serious about walking death backwards slowly at the age of 63 after 40 years of health decline.

Master a good understanding of Magnesium and the other co-factors needed for great health will fall into place. Stick with info from peer reviewed articles at first. They can have misleading info from time to time but are much better/safer than from strangers like me and others that you know nothing about. There are great doctors on Youtube that I follow. There are some that will tell you their supplements will fix you right up but I do not get my medical advice from supplement sellers as a general practice. :)

Best of success as you learn your way forward.
