I'm 5'11 was 157 looking to gain muscle mass and lose fat at the same time,

I was instructed to eat 2600 calories with 40% protein (260g) 30% fat (80g) 30% carbs (200g) however after 9 days of trying to keep up with my macros and weight training 5 days out of the week I lost 7lbs.

Should I keep the diet and see what happens or is there any changes I need to make?

That's a ridiculously high protein amount - why so high?

Are you trying to maintain weight?
That's my assumption from your goals of gaining weight, losing fat (recomp) plus being quite light for your height.
If so then 2600 cals seems very low for someone exercising hard. What numbers do you get from either MyFitnessPal (base cals + exercise cals) or a TDEE calculator (if you prefer a same every day eating goal?

No I wouldn't stick to that suggested diet. Who gave it to you and what was their reasoning?

This thread contains some very good advice, well worth spending a little time reading through it.

I would add to sijornial's statement that if 30% total carbs is a csrb reduction for you (don't know what you were eating previously), then a lot of the sudden 7 lb drop is likely water weight. Still, it doesn't sound like weight loss is your goal, so definitely a calorie increase.
