*hugs* Food is soothing, I agree. Are you currently getting treated for your mental stuff?2

Yep get treatment for the mental issues or the food issue won't go away.
Good luck.6 -

There is treatment. Mental health issues are not something you want to deal with alone. Trust me I have been there and done that. Check with your primary care or the local health department for referrals.2 -
You say you decided to stop from soda, and you did it, so how? why not use the same reasoning to stop from any other food you become addicted to?1

With a little creativity, you can replicate most foods with a healthier version. Check out people like https://flexibledietinglifestyle.com/1

There is definitely treatment. Are you in the US? Many mental health providers are now offering tele-health, which I find very convenient.
Under normal circumstances, I find regular exercise crucial to my mental health.
These days I need more help and am in therapy.1 -
I say don't. And would you go so far to call it an addiction vs just simply a habit? I used to drink a lot of soda. I've lost 30+ pounds and I've made tweaks: I buy the mini size cans because I've realized I treat a mini can the same way I treat a normal can or 20 oz bottle, as one serving.3
