calories seems so little...?

I was flactuating between 133 to 135 lbs and now I am trying to get back to 125 lbs. It seems like i was staying between 133 to 134 range even though i wasn't tracking my calories. I was eating whatever i wanted and wasn't watching portion sizes etc. When i started going for long walks in the morning my weight stayed at 133 lbs and didn't really go higher.
Now i'm back to eating at calorie deficit and eating 1.700 calories to lose 0.5 lbs a week. i now find my food last me much longer than before now that I'm not constantly snacking and eating in big portions and try to stay within my calorie goal. Calories seem to add really fast and sometimes i eat at maintance because i ran out of calories.. which isn't that big of different to 250 deficit. What I'm confused is, i was eating eating much more yet i never really went higher than 133 but my maintanance calories seem so little that how much i was eating before
What gives
