Does anyone have a word that gives them a bad feeling? I'm not referring to atrocious use of the language. I'm wondering if some words give otherwise disconcerting feelings. Maybe moist or proboscis.
I have a feeling @motorsheen will say 'stop' bothers him.

Tell me honestly
Did my sexy halloween costumes make you think of this?1 -
Honestly, no. I had to backtrack some to see to what you were referring. I'm sure they are candidates for some.0

I've been told a few times not to use the word "snigger" because it is similar sounding to another word that shouldn't be said or that they didn't know it was an actual word.1

Oh thank god
Edit: we’re still a-go for Halloween2 -

- Moist.
- A word I can't write here without getting a warning, but it starts with a "c".
- Uranus (Yes, it's a planet but the way most people pronounce it is just.. ugh).

The word is okay but when ppl say “divisive” with a short i instead of a long i it makes me cringe! This is a very di•VIGH•sive topic, indeed. 😉0

The word "probe" is another one. In most usages, it's got creepy connotations.1

Agreed! I have never liked that word, it’s just so ugh. I also used to dislike the word “purse” but it doesn’t bother me as much anymore.
Speaking of p words. I do quite like the word percolate and all associated words with it. Percolating is just fun to say!

De-veining. Actually, anything with the word "vein" in it. Veins in general creep me the *kitten* out.2

No many how many times I correct his pronunciation of “suet,” my bf always says “suette” (like “duet”).
Usually mispronunciations don’t bother me, but this one does, partly because he doesn’t seem to believe me.
Yes, bird feeders are major entertainment here.0
