Bodyweight vs. Resistant Bands vs. Dumbbells

So I used to be an avid lifter - I participated in powerlifting meets and bodybuilding shows.
But life got in the way and for two years I’ve probably done a total of 20-25 workouts.
Most of which were lower body because my right shoulder has been giving me some pain for about 3 years now.

But I’m really wanting to start back up and follow a workout routine. I just don’t even know where to begin, or what I should start with at this point when it comes to weight?
Another thing to throw in is that I had a baby 7 months ago so core-wise I’m still not the strongest 🙃

Should I start with just my bodyweight then? Or should I just push myself and immediately start with dumbbells/barbells?

It’s crazy how in 2 years I could go from deadlifting 250 lbs to not knowing if I should even squat with a barbell :P

After a long break (having a baby or something) I started with the barbell or light weights. I do a mix of barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell and bands as well as bodyweight. Start light, adjust. You will probably find your strength comes back a lot quicker than you think.
