I spent yesterday hiking, a storm is filling the mountains with snow right now, sometimes you have to get while the getting is good. ๐ŸŒž ๐ŸŒจ๏ธ๐ŸŒจ๏ธ๐ŸŒจ๏ธ

Table Mountain burned 8 years ago. Pretty extensively, for miles in every direction it's nothing but giant toothpicks; here and there a stand of the trees I came for, the only ones that survived the fire. This time of year, when the sun hits them just right it looks like the larches themselves are fire.

The scenery was gorgeous and varied, I decided to extend my time there by visiting a small peak and then walking the rim of the "table." Really didn't appreciate how long it would take, those burn scars are beautiful to hike through but the trees fall over blocking the trail, and slow you down.

It had snowed earlier in the day, then cleared up for a beautiful but very cold night. I got to watch twilight fade and the sky turn inky blue, cross a shallow creek by moonlight, and hike under the stars and planets. Really fun experience.

Very very glad for down, bright flashlights, and taco places that are open late. ๐ŸŒฎ
