Upped my calories stalled weight gain

Options
(I MEANT WEIGHT LOSS IN THE TITLE SORRY!)

So, I used to eat a insufficient amount of calories ( 900 -1000) for about 6 months and then realized it wasn't good for my body. However i did lose alot of weight ( 18 pounds ) Now I eat about 1360 calories a day ( what MFP says to lose a pound a week ). Since upping my calories i have gained 11 pounds and now my weight has stopped going up. What should my intake be so that i can actually start losing again? I am 5'6 and 133 pounds. ALSO : Throughout the period of weight loss and weight gain i worked out 30 - 40 min a day on the elliptical or running, i try to eat back all calories burned. Any recommendations are welcome :)

I would head over to the Eat More Weight Less Group -- they have some great threads about exactly what you're dealing with. Also some of those members started their own site which is great, it's eatmore2weighless.com -- I'm kind of amazed about how it works but it does. You'll also see that many of the eat more people encourage weight lifting to build muscle and to change body composition. Anyway, just my two cents. Good luck!

I'm afraid, my dear, that you have a lot of reading to do now! Sounds very much like you are going to have to do a metabolism reset to fix things and get back on track for losing again. The Eat More to Weigh Less group is going to be invaluable to you if you do want to fix this...

Here are a couple of threads to get you started.

Edit: here's the group link too, which links you to the EM2WL website as well http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3817-eat-more-to-weigh-less

So before this recent weight gain you weighed 122 pounds? I'm not hating on you for wanting to lose more, but your body might already be at a healthy weight. At this point it might be more about body composition (toning, defining) than losing actual pounds. I definitely second reading the above links and checking out EM2WL group. Good luck.

I agree with last post. Sounds like you were a good weight for your height.
