What kind? (Heart, Brain, Legs, Liver etc) That will depend on the persons experience and how uncomfortable it is. Leg Angios are usually a long procedure and some people have trouble holding still for so long. What are you afraid of specifically? They are very routine procedures and if you have a good doctor you have nothing to worry about. They will give you enough medication so that you are still awake but very mellow and relaxed and without pain.

I'm a radiographer and perform angiography.

Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor? What are you concerned about?

Had one on my heart a while back
    Entry through the wrist
Never felt a thing, but was really cool getting to look at the inside of my heart, obviously you don’t have to watch, I just found it interesting.

Afterwards you’ll sit with a clamp on your wrist which the nurses was loosen the pressure on over a period of several hours the ensure the artery has sealed, take something to occupy yourself.

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so scared. I have had one, and it was ok- my mum was with me so that was helpful support. Also I have found that watching guided meditations on youtube have helped to calm my emotions alot.

I know this post is old, but I had 3 in 2022 emergency related, a bleed burst in my head I'm fine two years later, but I actually go in tomorrow for my fourth brain angiogram to make sure there are no residual problems. All were through my groin artery I don't remember the first two, but the third one was uncomfortable but bearable

The angiogram tomorrow will be through my wrist artery. And I will have a MRI beforehand.

I hope this message reaches you doing well.
