Not to be a downer, but I think it's a *very* big ask to lose 7 months' worth of weight gain in 4 weeks. It's not recommended to lose more than 2 lbs a week, and that's only if you have a lot to lose. I think a lot of us are guilty of some corona gain; the good/bad news is it looks like this will go on for quite a while longer, so take that time to lose weight in a healthy way. Set a reasonable goal for yourself and don't be discouraged if you "only" lose 1 lb/week - that's a much more sustainable way to go about it!9

Almost to the 19 in the Covid-19.
gotta hit that goal first.
And time-based weight loss goals are a recipe for disaster.
Especially in extreme diet like you reference attempting to do - where you will almost assuredly lose some muscle mass too, perhaps the upwards of 25% all too easily done.
You will regret that later, unless you just enjoy the fun of starting a diet every year.
becoming harder and harder as the years go by to lose the weight.
having a worse and worse relationship with food and your body each time.
Strongly recommend don't do it.
Only 19 to lose (you still have 1 to gain!) - pick 1 lb weekly and use the tool correctly.4 -
@applered you are smart to be catching this sooner than later, but 19 lb in less than 4 weeks makes no sense. I've been dealing with a CV gain as well and actually made it back to Pre-CV this week. That was 6 weeks and just under 11 lbs. I lost it way faster than I expected. Now to deal with the lbs from other excuses.

Not a realistic goal AT ALL to attempt to lose 19 lbs in a few weeks. You didn’t gain it in a few weeks by your own admission, so you won’t lose it in a few weeks either0

I definitely understand wanting to get the weight off asap. During April, I gained 15lbs and immediately tried to get it off as fast as possible. I was really embarrassed and wanted it off asap so I did some drastic things to try to get it off. Just some thoughts:
- the faster/harder I tried to get the weight off, the less I lost. There was always a weekend binge waiting around the corner because I was exercising a lot and not eating enough.
- In 5 months, I only lost 3lbs because I kept burning out. I was working out 5 times a week, low carb, and low calories. It was crazy discouraging.
- In October, I consistently lost 2lbs a week by setting realistic attainable goals, working out 3 times a week, and eating anything I want in moderation.
I'm now only 4lbs from where I began. I know it is so tempting to throw yourself into something so you can lose asap. But in reality, trying to get fast results can take longer and burn you out.6
