Problem with adjusting calories with exercise

I’m a Premium member and have chosen to turn off the option to have MFP adjust my calories if I log an exercise. I don’t want to eat more if I happen to exercise more one day. I’ve never had this option turned on.
Yet...about once a week I notice my macros off and when I check my calorie and macro goals have been adjusted - increased, based on my exercise/activity logged. I go in and turn that feature off, but a few days later it’s turned itself back on.
It happened about a year ago for months and then stopped happening for some unknown reason. It started happening again in the last few months. My app is up to date, my iPhone is up to date, and I don’t use any sort of FitBit. The feature/option is turned off both in the app and online; I only track with the app but checked both.
Anyone else find a solution to this? I’ve contacted support but I’m not holding out much hope since they couldn’t help the last time. Or has anyone found a workaround? I need to watch/track certain macros for medical reasons and that’s why I bought the Premium membership, so having the app change my macro and calorie settings is a worrying thing.

A work around be to just not log your exercise with calories. When you log exercise you can change the calories allocated to that exercise, so you can put in the time that you did it for and change the calories to 0.
If you still want to track the amount of calories you burn by exercise, you could type in the minutes, see how many calories that gives you, then type that number in the duration box. The numbers will look silly to anyone else, but to you it'll make sense.0
