I always take 9000-10,000 steps a day. Is that leading a lightly active lifestyle or sedentary?

I’d say at least a lightly active lifestyle

That doesn't seem light.. It seems people here are quite fit and healthy 👏0

I‘m a teacher but I have to be intentional to get to my 10,0000

How fortunate that your profession is right there in the activity descriptions!
And of course that's only part of your acvtivity, with 10,000 steps Active may well be a better fit,

Where is this screen shot from? I seem to remember seeing different numbers on the MFP boards, posted by members though.1 -
Sedentary is less than 5,000 steps per day
Low active is 5,000 to 7,499 steps per day
Somewhat active is 7,500 to 9,999 steps per day
Active is more than 10,000 steps per day
Highly active is more than 12,500

It is missing sedentary. Also, very active (~1.8 multiplier), at least for me, stops around 15-16k steps. After that you are unclassified and have to rely on NEAT + Activity and/or put the TDEE formula in a spreadsheet like I have.1 -

Do these settings differ between different versions of the app? I only have 4 settings on mine, like sjiomial posted (except the sedentary setting is called "not very active").0 -

I have never changed mine from sedentary so I keep forgetting that MFP is missing the 5th category. I pulled that from a website. I use an Apple Watch + Pacer to get my calories right.0
