What is my problem!

I can’t seem to stay under 1500 calories.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Is 1500 a realistic goal for you?
What is your current weight, your height, your gender?

Preplan your daily menu - do it the day before, know what meals and snacks you are having. Some people plan a week in advance, so as they can do shopping and meal prep. Allow some flexibility for eating back some exercise calories and other infrequent caught unawares - forgetting to take lunch to work, a drink after work etc

When and how do you go over? Night time snacks? Plan ahead. Have celery, carrots, etc around. Sugar free jello. Air-popped popcorn. Hot, low calorie drinks like herbal tea, broth, etc.
Seconds at mealtime? Big veggie salad or non-cream soup with meal.
Just Run out of calories before you run out of time? Plan ahead. For tomorrow, plan 50 calories less for each meal than you had today.
Have you tried more protein, and spread out better. I personally aim for at least 15 grams of protein at each meal and a total of at least 80 grams each day. That’s enough to keep me satiated most days. Experiment to see what works for you.

How many calories are you going over by? Where are those extra calories coming from? Over-generous portion sizes? Sugary drinks? Snacks? Baked goods? Alcohol?

If it's a struggle right now, just take it in baby steps. Put calories on the back burner for a week or two and work instead on forming good habits. Maybe decide you won't eat anything after 7PM and get used to doing that. Then slowly shift each meal in a good direction. Choose one thing to work on at a time. Maybe trade highly processed foods for healthier choices. No one says you have to do everything perfectly all at once. Once you get into a good groove, you can tweak your food intake until you've got things where you want them.

It might take a month just to get in the habit of eating less. You'll get there. Just don't give up. <3

    Repeat, over and over—
    I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.
    Then—
    I can. I can.
    Then—
    I will. I will.

Don't stay under them - do a little more cardio or weight lifting
