I have been struggling with my weight since my youngest was born. He will be 17 on Tuesday. I had made a New Years resolution to run a 5k in January 1, 2010. I did ok but that was the beginning. I started running and progressed to weight training. I was in the best shape of my life! I had lost 70 pounds! I felt amazing! I decided to join a local triathlon club. All women. I didn’t actually do a triathlon for about four years. I eventually did one and it was both exhilarating and the most difficult thing I had ever done!
That was three years ago. Shortly after, I had a terrible ankle injury. I haven’t run a single step since. I’ve gained 60 pounds and developed anxiety and depression. I’ve also been diagnosed with hypertension and hypothyroidism. I hate my job. I hate my life and what I have become: an overweight, unhappy sick person.
I want to be an athlete again. I need to start here though.
