Eat clean. No alcohol, no refined sugar/flour or processed garbage. I will pack my meals with nutrient-dense foods to get the most out of every calorie.
Live a life where food feels insignificant. I will not be obsessed with food. I won't use food to regulate emotions, to soothe trauma or cope with emotional unease. It's fine to enjoy tasty food and savor my meals but I will only use food to fuel my body.
Don't be afraid to leave my comfort zone in and out of the gym.I won't be afraid of the free-weight section, won't be afraid of trying new workouts I find fitness magazines to achieve desired results.
Don't be ashamed. Ever. I will not apologize when I'm not sorry. I will not apologize when something is not my fault.
Handle my *kitten*. I will make my bed, wash my face, brush my teeth, pay my bills, do the things that are important to me.
Make myself a priority. I know I can't help anyone else if I am suffering. My needs are as important as anyone else’s.
Ditch the victim mentality. I'm done with “that’s not fair.” I make my own decisions, I am responsible for the consequences and I own that. Nobody put me where I am except me and nobody is changing my life for me.
Don't feel entitled to success I didn’t earn. I am not owed success I didn’t work my butt off for. I am not apologetic for the success I earn. I don't feel sorry for myself when I fail to achieve something I did not work for. If I want more, I work harder.
Don't be a doormat. I am not mean or hyper-assertive but I refuse to allow anyone to take advantage of me. I will not watch my needs be pushed aside.
Know I do not need permission to be myself. I can listen to Mötley Crüe on Tuesday and Rihanna on Wednesday and I don't owe anyone an explanation or justification. I do not need permission to love what I love.
Don't be a skinny b*tch, be a bad b*tch. I don't want to be thin, I don't want to lose weight. I want to get really fit, strong and sculpted. I want to lose fat and gain muslce. I don't want the kind of body people are "lucky" to be born with, I want the kind of body you earn through massive effort and discipline.
Don't make excuses, make make a way.
Do things with intention. I will eat, exercise and work with intention. I will not do things mindlessly, driven by habit or compulsion. I will to "zone out;" I will stay present and focused.11 -
I'm in the locker room putting on my hockey pants, and they slide right up without catching on the fat pads on my hips. I get suited up, and take the ice. Skating is so much faster when you aren't lugging around an extra 40 pounds. Because I'm faster and more agile without the extra weight, I win the puck on a face off back to my D, break around the other center, get a tape to tape pass and deke the opposing team's defense, get the goalie down and score on a sweet backhand.8

I did just research that. Yep, sounds about right. This is what I want. (Though, maybe quite a few less clothes than what some of those blogs recommend. Like over 30 clothing pieces? For one season? The same amount for another? How is that a little wardrobe? That better includes PJs and underwear!)
Well, now I just have to reach that vision. 15 kg down, 20 to go...

I step onto a plane and don't have the fear that everyone is staring at me or that I won't fit in the seat. I sit down, fit comfortably even with the arm down, and my seat belt easily buckles (and I have to tighten it).
When I step off the plane, I head to my favorite theme parks and ride every single ride! I don't have to worry about the embarrassment of not fitting in the seat or the overhead restraint not locking. It would be the best day ever!16 -
I'm able to wake up at 7-8 hours and go through the day not feeling like I only slept a couple hours. That I can hit the books and study without almost instantly feeling like I need to take a nap. That I can watch a movie and be able to focus on it without my mind drifting away or having to stop the movie because of mental fatigue.11

I am 68 fast approaching 69! I am fit and slim in jeans and shirt that does not bunch up! I visitng the great smoky mountain national ark and I am hiking to chimney top!!!8

I wake up in no pain and put on whatever I like out of my closet and not based on what will rub. I pack a sensible breakfast lunch and head off to work where I can walk to to the train without my arches hurting. Once I get to work and I am offered chips or candy which I may grab for later. I eat my breakfast and talk to colleagues while we work through the day and not wonder if I am being judged negatively about my weight. I can sit in my desk chair all day without being comfortable and not obsessing with the chips/candy that I grabbed earlier. I eat my lunch and maybe a little bit of what I was offered but save some for later for my 3-4pm slump. I leave work and get ready for a date that I have later on. I pick an outfit that I feel hot in and do my makeup where I don't have to draw on a jaw line or hide my extra chin. Before I head out, I take a photo of my complete look that includes everything and not just my face. I then meet my date and we have a good time where we are actually able to get to know eachother and I'm not second guessing if they are just trying to get out of a second date because I'm heavier than that they thought I was going to be. Maybe there's more to to end of the date and I'm comfortable with how my body looks maybe there is not and I am looking forward to planning the next date because I really like this one.10

At my intermediate goal, success looks like ziplining with my teenage son at New River Gorge this summer. We went with a group three summers ago and I was the only one who had to stay behind on the ground. I never want to experience those emotions again if I can do anything to prevent it.12

This is a lovely thread. Here is my vision:
I'm at a healthy body weight for the first time in my adult life. I am no longer at risk of diabetes, my cholesterol is in a healthy range and I have been cleared of any potential health risks. My knees no longer ache, my sciatica is reduced and I no longer have to worry about throwing out my back at least once a year. My life is no longer controlled by food or dictated by cravings. I am at ease and I feel strong, confident, beautiful, and proud of how far I've come as I stand there posing for pictures in a gorgeous dress in the middle of the forest with my baby bump actually showing. I am excited about the future and what is to come.10 -
I'm hiking in the mountains, maybe in Denali. I have stamina and strength in my legs as I ascend. I feel the wind and sun on me and feel joyful as I take in the amazing expanse of this wild place.9

I would wake up not hurting. Walk the dogs, work in the garden, play with my kids, all without pain in my back or legs. I would take a shower standing up, instead of a bath sitting down. I would stop refilling my prescription and seeing the doctors who don't help. I will enjoy the simple things, like walking outside in nature!11

I just won the lottery. I’m able to invest and contribute massively to the causes near and dear to my heart! I head to my business because I love what I do. I work with clients and connect on an intellectual and emotional level, and produce for them work I’m elated with. My husband picks me up for a surprise lunch on the beach. He’s super sexy as always. My bra and panties look like a swimsuit so I dash in the water, cause why not? My shape is lean and long, with some curve where I want it. I feel connected and whole with myself and in nature. I clean up from my 2 hour break and head back to work, soaking up the atmosphere of my space with music, and creating great connections with the people walking in. We have wine as they peruse and I get a new project that will utilize all my creative capabilities! It’s the biggest one yet. My husband swoops me up for dinner and we celebrate! I love our life.7

I go to a concert alone and standing in line I don't feel like anyone's staring at me or judging my body. I feel fairly anonymous. When the show starts, I go inside and FULLY enjoy the music and dance freely in my area thinking only of the music and not caring one tiny bit about how my body looks to others around and behind me. I am there for fun and I have a lot of it. I even find myself joining together with strangers who are dancing and having a blast.
When this happened, I felt much more excited and accomplished than when I saw a certain number on the scale. It was definitely a big NSV and my realization that I'd "made it". To me feeling comfortable and uninhibited is worth so much.
Another one for me is going to the doctor and not worrying about my weight when they weigh me.10 -
say in a years time, i have lost some weight and fat, have become more defined, i can fit into my old jeans, but feel confident to try new clothes, trying to remember i am only in my mid 20s.7

I get up after a rested sleep without any aches and stiffness. I go to the closet and pick anything I want to wear. Not just the few things at the beginning of the closet, but anything even from the back.
I workout (because that's who I am now) in a darling outfit then have coffee to plan my day. I am looking forward to my day be it working in the office or working at home. I find the project I'm working on and attack it with gusto and vigor.
I don't have to worry about avoiding plans because I enjoy making them now. I enjoy seeing people, I enjoy smiling, I enjoy my life. Being where I am now is effortless and engaged.
I know there's way more to it than just that, but the first few days would be wallowing in the joy of being thinner. Looking at my reflection by accident and not averting my eyes. Not always having to worry about if my "good" black leggings are clean. xxoo

It's just six months from now and I am walking down the beach with a nice swimsuit on, my tan glowing and I look up and see my ex walking toward me. He sees how great I look and his chin drops. I smile and know he is wishing he had loved me like he should have. I am looking better than ever and he knows he screwed up royally!11

I ain't sure what it would exactly look like, but I'm pretty sure it would involve a UCLA cheerleader (or two), a waterslide and a go-kart track.6

In November this year, I celebrate my birthday in a nice figure hugging dress (hopefully allowed to go out for dinner with people) and thanks to consistency with a healthy diet and exercise throughout my pregnancy, I get lots of comments from my friends that I look amazing, and definitely not like I've had my third kid two months earlier!
I'm aware some of this may be out of my control but I can dream!10 -
I feel amazing! I look pretty good too!
The point is that I’m no longer obese.
And, I stand a better chance of “getting there” if I can just get better sleep!7 -
It's 2023. The pandemic is firmly behind us. My husband has just been offered a great job in his field across the country, in a place that experiences actual seasons, and I need to buy a whole new winter wardrobe. I can drive down to the mall and walk into ANY store I like, and within seconds have an armful of clothes to try on, without having to comb through all of the Plus/Goddess/Women's/some other patronizing euphemism for "fat lady clothes" racks to find three shirts that might cover my boobs and belly at the same time, if I hunch forward and try not to breathe too much. I can make purchasing decisions based on whether I actually LIKE something, not "this is the only [garment] in the tri-county area that will adequately cover what needs covered, so I guess I'll buy it."6

People, Family, Friends, Co-workers, anyone who knew me "before" see me, just anywhere, simple places, grocery store, gas station...if they recognize or if they don't, they say "WOW, you look amazing" and the young people say "You are how old? No way!".5

My hair is pulled back in a pony tail. My hair is a medium to long length now. I’m wearing a black long sleeved athletics hoody and leggings. It’s autumn and I’ve just finished a run. My makeup free skin is glowing. The air is crisp and I feel energized. I arrive home and grab an apple to eat.6
