Getting bored. Need new cardio ideas.

I've been doing mostly step and zumba on my cardio days, but I'm getting bored and need new ideas
-looking for strictly cardio (I do weights on alternate days)
-I'm far from a beginner, but like low impact. I try to avoid running and jumping.
-I'm not super coordinated
-I need it to be indoors, I workout at 5am and it's too dark to feel safe outside
-I hate Fitness Blender, don't know why but it just doesn't work for me
-I've used Beach body in the past, but always skipped around between the various programs. I'm not opposed to spending the money on a subscription of some kind.
Any suggestions?

8fit. It's an app and the pro subscription has some options I sometimes like incorporating on active rest days.
MFP also has workout ideas though not sure if it's a premium option or if it's open to everyone.1 -
I like body groove if I’m doing videos. I have a bunch of cardio equipment that I use at home, so I don’t do them very often.1

I'll have to look that one. May be similar to Zumba but not quite Zumba.

I'm going to share a few I like...
Marching workouts:

https://youtu.be/u_VxrFeyiEs
Almost anything from this guy:

Low impact kickboxing:

I also really like step aerobics. You can do any routine without the step. And if any workout has too much jumping/bouncing, you can modify by doing a low impact move.

Can you exercise outdoors in your days off? Most people don't do outdoor cardio for the exercise, they do it for the fun. If you can spend a day a week hiking you'll burn a ton of calories to enjoy across the week, take a lot of great photos, feel a peaceful and relaxing connection to nature, and open up a lot of variety.
I'm sorry I don't have any answer along the lines you're looking for. Indoor cardio machines are beyond my mental capabilities personally, but put me on a bike and it's smiles for miles. A lot of people feel similar, maybe you're one. Either way I hope you find something that you enjoy!2 -
Have you seen this thread yet? I get so many ideas from here and post my workouts whenever I find a new video.
I am working out on YouTube exclusively for now and there's so much stuff I rarely get bored. When I can't do the hard work I turn to dance (which can also be hard but is more fun!)
Body Project
Heather Robertson
MadFit
HASfit
PopSugar Fitness
Are some of my favorite channels
In this thread you will also find Sydney Cummings, Walk at Home with Leslie Sansone, lots of step aerobics, and much more.

I don't really like cardio machines either, but I do cardio everyday at home with YouTube mostly(kickboxing and step are 2 of my faves). Once you find a type of workout you like, it's easier to make more personal suggestions. I understand the not doing much outside. My area is not so great for outdoor cardio(unleashed dogs, wild animals, unpaved roads, not well lit, etc) so I try to get to the park with a paved track at least once per week.1 -
you NEED to try Team Body Project on youtube!!!!! It's hands down the best....especially for low impact.3

I found this thread last week andthere are tons of suggestions.
I like popsugar a lot. Theres usually 3 people working out. One is the leader one does advanced or follows the leader and the third is my person, the modified low impact girl.
Some of their routines use weights but they're never that heavy duty that I consider true lifting or I'll skip thru a few exercises. I'm just starting back and at home instead of the gym.1 -
The Bollywood Workout is different and fun!2
-
Try shadow boxing with hand weights. Low impact and can get exhausting really quickly.2

I like this channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsLF0qPTpkYKq81HsjgzhwQ for a cardio blast. Everything from 12mins upwards.1

Ok, so not useful if you only have access to YouTube, but I was getting bored on my cardio machines and while I love the low impact dance workout from body groove, I wanted something high intensity.
My husband has a full size heavy bag and a BOB and he did mixed martial arts for years. I had him work on teaching me some of the moves yesterday. I was dying! BUT it was a lot of fun!1 -

I second this. 12 3 minute rounds with 1 minute between each round will blow quite a few cobwebs away!

Team Body Project!
They have free Youtube videos, but their subscription is worth it! They have all standing, low impact cardio plus so much more. My favorite part of TBP is that there are real people doing the workouts not only just fitness models.0 -
Thanks guys. I kinda thought this post had died out and then I came back to a whole bunch of responses. I've done Jenny Ford step, but never her marching. I'll have to check out the shadow boxing too. I had forgot about Team Body Project, used to like them.0

I can't handle indoor cardio machines. I can do indoor cardio, but not machines, and even then I need to change it up frequently. Weights on the other hand is never an issue, I love it. Outdoor is a good idea, I do like to hike. I could do that on my truly off days (meaning not on call). But I'll have to look at some of these ideas for indoor stuff that doesn't feel like torture for the majority of the days.
