Does MFP adjust the RDA Nutrient information based on age? At 45 my RDA iron goal dropped from 18mg to 8mg? I entered my age data in my profile. However, I can't find what MFP actually uses ... other posts suggest MFP uses the RDA for younger women. Any insights?

No, nor for men. It's the higher one across the board. It seems to be based on the RDA amount used on US food labels (which track iron as a percentage), and that's the higher one.

MFP is a pretty difficult place to track iron anyway, given that many entries lack it.

How are you getting mg? I just get a percentage.

I'm anemic and keep an eye on iron in food mostly for kicks, as I cannot get enough iron from food alone. As lemurcat2 said, many entries are missing or have wrong iron values, so it is a lot of work to track iron here as every new entry you use should be manually verified as most user-entered entries need to be updated.

I think she's referring to the actual RDA, which is 18 mg for pre-menopausal women and 8 for post menopausal women and men. The percentages on food labels and in MFP are of 18.
