I love/hate watching he paranormal shows on television. I love them because I know it's real and I hate them because I know it's real. Here's my story.
My Aunt bought an old house, the husband and wife died peacefully in their old age and are buried on the property. When in the house alone, you can hear people in the next room talking. They tend to turn the music down when it's too loud, and turn the television off when you walk out of the room or fall asleep. One day in high school I went there and plopped on one of the twin beds, like 5 seconds later I heard footsteps come in the room and plop down on the second twin bed. The most activity started when my aunt talked about moving their graves further from the house, but she said they do not bother her, she has never heard or seen a thing.

I moved to New York a while back and rented this house. After a few weeks I started noticing things being moved and I would hear noises. Come to find out the "town witch" supposedly had lived there and got kicked out. There was an old barn on the property and she had removed the hay loft and put in this huge stained glass window with a huge eye right in the center. People said that is where she did everything. I would also get woken up by the feeling of someone tapping me on my shoulder like they were trying to wake me but no one was ever there. My daughter was 3 at the time and she had her toddler bed in my room and she would be sitting up staring at the foot of my bed and point and say man. It was creepy but cool at the same time. Luckily I never really had an uneasy feeling about it so we stayed in that house for almost 2 years.0

I have had my share of experiences. I always say "I am not afraid of ghost, but people scare the heck out of me" .0

The house I grew up in was haunted. It was the norm because I hadn't lived anywhere else. Doors open and closed on their own, things would mysteriously fall off the counters or tables, footsteps, whispering, shadows.... Etc. I was even visited by my grandpa when I was seven. He came to say goodbye.
In my last year living there the ghosts decided they liked messing with my alarm clock. Aka turning it off. I'd double check that it was on and set before bed, even moved it so I'd have to go across the room to turn it off in the morning. Good thing I had a pretty good internal clock and would wake up on time, cause it was always in the off position when I'd get up.
Last year I stayed at a friends house for the first time, in a room in his basement. I had an uneasy feeling down there but contributed it to it being my first time staying there. I woke suddenly just before 6:30am as someone lifted the comforter off my shoulder, as if they were trying to see who was sleeping. No one there if course, and the comforter remained pitched upward where it had been lifted. I passed the rest of the night curled into a ball, blankets tucked in around me having uneasy dreams about the man in the basement. My friend admitted the next day he had felt the presence of a man down there. If I had known, I would have slept on the couch.0 -

Wow, if my comforter was lifted off me while I'm sleeping I would jump out of that bed and sprint the phuck out of that house. I can't believe you brushed it off like that and kept laying in that bed. Ghosts scare the absolute *kitten* out of me even though I've never encountered one. I'll admit I don't think I have a lot of fears but ghosts are one of them.0 -
The house I grew up in was very haunted.
We'd constantly hear cabinets slamming shut, dishes and windows breaking (only to investigate and find nothing was broken), the sounds of people walking up and down the stairs even when you were home alone... There were some very malicious entities in two sections of the house, which I can try to explain, and then one kind of mischievous one I think was very kind spirit of someone that had passed in the house and I don't think meant any harm, he was just playful. I'll explain the bad stuff first.
There was an unfinished room off of my parents' bedroom that was not a closet but wasn't really specifically for anything, either. They kept the door locked inexplicably--either they didn't care to go in there or the door was locked when they bought the house and never bothered to open it, I have no idea, but you could feel the energy through the walls that that room was very bad. I had a few dreams in which I was able to get in it and it was just dusty and had some old furniture in it, and I always wondered if maybe I'd sleep-walked in there and explored or something but I'll never know.
The basement didn't feel right, either. It had been sectioned off so that the heater/water heater/etc were between the kind of "bonus room" where my dad kept his computers set up (graphic designer, this was the early 90s), we had our Playstation down there and stuff, and the laundry room/my dad's workshop. Think of it as a U shape with walls around the center, and the access to the appliances had a heavy cloth draped on either side to cover it by the stairs. I can vividly recall the feeling of being watched/followed down there if I walked through my dad's workshop into the laundry room, and though I was a very curious child I only walked through the shortcut through the appliances room once to get to the stairs more quickly, whatever it was scared me so bad but I don't really remember why exactly.
Once, my brother found himself locked in his bedroom closet. He still swears to this day that he was playing hide and seek with me and I shoved him in there and locked the door, but for one, the closet doors did NOT lock, and two, he and I were really bratty with each other as kids and I wouldn't have played hide and seek with him in the first place. I've always been creeped out about the fact that something took my shape and tried to hurt my brother in that house.
When I was a very little girl, if I walked upstairs to go to bed on my own I would find that none of the light switches or lamps would work. I'd go from room to room trying the lights, until I got to the end of the hall at the bathroom and felt too uneasy and had to get someone to escort me to my room. As soon as one of my parents came back upstairs with me, the lights would work again. Once, when I was a little older (probably 7 or 8, I had a traumatic experience growing up and had stopped being a kid around this time), I walked upstairs and the same thing happened, so I went to my room, shut the door and yelled "This is NOT funny any more. Cut it out!" tried the lamp by my bed and it came on. The lights out game never happened again after that, which is why I think it was the mischievous/kind spirit that was playing a trick on me to get my attention.
My mom told me that one time she was sleeping on the couch in the living room on the first floor (my dad snored very badly) and she woke suddenly to find a very tall dark figure standing over her, stroking her hair and her face as one would do with someone who was very sick. I woke up a few times when I was a bit older to the same tall figure standing by my bedside, watching. I think this was the kind spirit too, though it was never a pleasant experience. I also think this spirit kept me from falling down the stairs when I sleep-walked as a child, but that's just speculation.0 -
I saw Big Foot. It was maybe a quarter mile away and looked huge like 8 ft tall. All brown. No defining clothing at all. It was walking very slowly and then disappeared.0
