New but not so new

Hi,
I've been using MyFitnessPal for about 5 months but this is the first time I've logged on to the community. I'm already halfway to my goal, starting weight 226 lbs (obese), goal: 150 lbs, current weight 186.2 lbs. It's getting more difficult to lose pounds as I get closer to "normal" weight (179 lbs for my height). Also, I still think my gut is too big! I've tried running (unsuccessfully- bad knees) but I walk fast (4mph) between 3 and 10 miles per day. I'm looking for help and encouragement and new ideas as I attempt to cross that line from overweight to normal. And I would like to make some new friends, too.
