whole family change?

I'm a sneaky mom type.. I don't know if open communication and letting the kids know you're changing their food and wanting them to exercise will work or bring more attention to something they may not think they want.
I'd just start changing the food without thinking a thing of it.. have fresh fruit out in a basket.. or cut on on a cutting board. Don't buy any junk food... Only diet soda in the house.. make mashed potatoes with chicken broth not butter.. just make small but tasty changes in the household food. then I'd encourage them to join a sport at school///. under the guise of them having more fun not getting exercise. Also.. take the family bowling or to the park..start moving more without it being under the heading of "We will and are exercising!!!"3
