Had a bad food day, suggestions?

I totally pigged out today at Applebee's. My meal was 1,000 calories and I didn't put it in until after I ate it. Freaking out a little because my limit is 1,200 so I'm already over.
Should I try working it off or let myself have a bad food day?

Sometimes if I overdo it at lunch I naturally fast or eat very little at dinner, but with you having such a tiny limit you would probably want to take a walk or something to add a few calories.
Or don't. One day over won't kill you, especially if you're doing ok the rest of the week. I would walk anyway, because walking is a nice thing to do0 -
It's a day. You live, you learn and you move on. Start fresh again tomorrow.0

yes it will be ok. even if you dont go for a walk.0

If you're going to feel bad about it I would do some exercise to lessen the guilt, otherwise you're fine. My metabolism actually seems to thrive on calorie spikes every now and then.0

If you can fit a workout in, that's never a bad idea. If not, like someone else said, it's only a day. Tomorrow is a new one. Good luck!0

Do better tomorrow. Your life is long...there will be many such days. Start taking a longer view...don't get wrapped up in the minutia of singular days that are ultimately meaningless. Make a habit of getting your nutrition on most of the time...but know that it doesn't have to be all of the time. So long as you are doing right most of the time, you will be just fine.
Also, eating like this and then compulsively going out and doing some unplanned workout is a recipe for disordered thinking. Be wary.0 -
I did this yesterday too. I ate one mcdonalds meal which was close to all my allotted calories. It made me so sick though, I couldn't eat any dinner.
I just had some tea and didn't worry about it.0 -
It's okay. I would say you should go workout but now for dinner, you should have a lighter meal since you have used a majority of your calories.0
