Mom of 4 trying to stay out of the cookie jar!! Life is busy: my kids play and fight, my house is a mess, always in the middle of a project, and still wouldn't trade my chaos for anyone else's. Somehow through this all I (we) have to remember to take care of ourselves!! After all I (we) need the energy to get through the days with love and laughter. I am here to learn tips for family meals, healthy snacks, ways to stay motivated and moving as a family and alone! (And as a side effect hopefully will drop some pounds along the way) Any suggestions how to best use MyFitness Pal for accounability and motivation??

You have to find what works for you. :) My suggestion is always to just make sure you log every single bite or sip, that way you can get an accurate accounting of what you're doing. You've got this!

I have 3 boys. We eat at the table as a family every night.

I plan dinners on Sunday evening while we have dinner. Everyone gets to say what they want for dinner that week. My only rule is red meat only once a week. I ask them for vegetable and fruit requests for snacks too. I do the shopping based off this menu and list on Monday or Tuesday morning.

As for keeping the house organized I have a daily chore list for myself that breaks areas of the house down into smaller areas to clean each day.

My boys are older so they are expected to clean their rooms and put away their laundry. They also help with different things when I ask like unloading the dishwasher, taking out the trash, shovelling the driveway, weeding gardens, vacuuming the pool.

I’m fairly new to MFP so I just make sure I log every meal and exercise. And I’ve started popping into the Community a few times a week. I am not motivated by having “friends” on my account so I choose to keep that part just for me.
