20 yr old D1 athlete with osteoporosis and other diseases

Options
Hi Guys! I’m Emily and I’m a D1 college athlete. I run long distance cross country and track. Within the last couple of years I have been diagnosed with IBS, (the beginnings of) pancreatic disease, severe gluten allergy/celiac, endometriosis, amenorrhea, and now.. secondary osteoporosis. I’m scared and uncertain of what to do. Do I gain weight? Do I not? Do I quit competitive running? Can I rebuild bone mass at this age or am I screwed? I’m scared. I know how important exercise and nutrition is, therefore I’m reaching out here.

Thank you for your time ❤️

Welcome: I'm sorry that you're going through all that! Since you're a D1 athlete, are there any dietitians or counselors available through your sport, or via your university, that could help you with professional advice? In your case, given how much you have going on, professional advice would be ideal, I think.

    Wishing you success!
