Hubs and I bought a decrepit fixer upper. After a massive meltdown over some floors that were....problematic....(years of dog poo, anyone?) my husband swept me up in his arms (exaggeration but I like to remember it that way) and said,”hush! Don’t cry! It’s better than it was before!”
Those words have stuck with me.
When that goal dress still didn’t fit after months, when I went through a wierd (and painful) period of underarm chafing, when everything got small but the glaringly obvious belly roll, I looked in the mirror, swallowed the frustration, and reminded myself,”It’s better than it was before.”
With the right 'why', we can endure almost any 'how'. Let us fix this 'why' in our minds and use it as a beacon to light our path in the darkest of hours.
Mine is...'Will you regret it if you do, or regret it if you don't?' My mother always said that to me. Not sure where it originated from, but wise words to live by and has served me well.

And I was able to smile and move on.
