hey everyone!
I'm a 25 year old guy from Belgium.
I used to be in 'perfect' shape when I was ~18, since working out and MMA were my hobbies. I spent ~4 hours every day at the gym, no cheat days.
then I started studying to make something of myself and due to the tiredness I got new, stationary, hobbies.
Today, 7 years later, I have a nice career. But I also weigh in at 100kg, which is more than 200 pounds for american people.
I just want to get to 83kg, that seems a nice weight for me to maintain.
I'm counting calories now, only drinking water, cutting mayonaise and ketchup, and trying to spend an hour daily doing some intensive VR games. (beat saber...) actually working out is suddenly very boring to me. I dont know what changed, but I dread doing anything other than the VR stuff.

any advice or just a hello are welcome! :) Im happy to be back again.

Bonjour-Hi and welcome back! 👏🏿 From your username and this post, I assume you like spending time to yourself?

Beyond VR, which other physical activities can you can enjoy on your own?

    bonjour! :)
thank you, I do enjoy spending time alone and my very select group of people, that's no secret 😅.

I enjoy walking in nature. but it actually has to be nature, any parts in cities I detest.
and that's about it, that's the strange part. I've tried to do all the things I did before, but I guess people just change. :)

What things do you do to exercise? :)

if you like being outdoors, hiking can be a great activity. Add a backpack for some extra weight and it can be quite the exercise for you. Biking might also be an option for you? Not sure what the weather situation is like in Belgium I'm afraid.

Hope you can find something you enjoy to do!

I'd imagine nature walks around Belgium to be divine 😍. I live in Montreal, Canada so we have many urban parks as well as easy access to many forests, trails, etc.

If I'm not outside walking or jogging then I do solitary activities inside with my small home gym set-up.

And, yes, people do change! Your first post goes to show that quite well: congratulations on your career success!

There's a few gamer threads in the forums you may find interesting, btw. I hope you find what you're looking for from the MFP community: most everyone is quite nice here.

So give a shout if you need anything 🗣️

I do enjoy hiking in the spring and fall. Unfortunately it's winter now and I don't enjoy the snow and ice at at all! What I most enjoy doing for exercise is weight lifting, it's so fulfilling to see the amounts of weights you are lifting going up. It's a tangible thing where I can see the progress being made. And I like Zumba (but that's a secret).

Just got my Oculus recently so I'm looking for more games I can play that will keep me active and moving

Goedemorgen from a fellow Flemish

What we did a lot past year is change our usual walking routes to give us at least a change of scenery.
    You can use: https://www.wandelknooppunt.be/nl
Just take into account that their km's are slighty shorter than in reality, around 5%. So if you plan 20km with the app, you'll end up doing 21km.
When you look at the map while planning your route, watch out for green zones, and zoom in to see if there are a lot of streets or not; that way you can plan the most in nature instead of cities.

Good luck with your new journey.

No mountains around me, I live in the "great plains" so, a few hills and some river valleys is about all. The rivers make for some pretty hikes though.

I've done some Zumba videos through youtube, and used my kids xbox for Just Dance...not quite the same, but still gets the heart rate up. As my kids have gotten older the schedules for in person zumba just don't mesh up with time I have available. So I just make do when I can.
