Music for workouts

Hi I was wondering how everyone else works out, personally unless I'm in a class then I can't work out without music, and it has to be the "right" music, i.e loud and pretty fast! The one thing I don't like about classes such as Body Pump/Attack/Combat is that the music they use generally sucks, and if I hear one more Black Eyed Peas song I swear I will go crazy...
I usually make my own version of a "mix tape" and use that, changing it probably every week or so, anyone else do similar kind of stuff?

I'm definitely a fan of cheesy and not so cheesy 80s music of all kinds. I'm really into lifting weights so I add in some hip hop. But, that's just me!

I have a workout playlist on my ipod that I use. Every week or so I'll change it around and mix up the songs. Or if I get tired of that I'll just put it on shuffle mode.

Now I just gotta remember to take off the music that doesn't get me pumped. I hate when on shuffle you get Megadeth and then Enya following it up. Who the heck can workout to Enya?? Unless your stretching or doing yoga maybe
  • I have a HUGE range on my iPod for working out. From Eminem and random rap songs to the blues and country. One song I found very nice to jog/run/fast walk, towards the end when you start to get tired, is "Running on Empty" by Jackson Browne. It fits your mood so well its hard not to get motivated.

Iron Maiden, Bassnectar, Dio, Daft Punk, and <coughDaddyYankeecough> (among others) get me through my workouts...

And when I need that extra little push at the end, "The Final Countdown" always does it for me!

Survivor - Eye of the Tiger

"Uprising" is a fantastic track for workouts and is coincidentally on my playlist :).. Knights of Cydonia is great too, a whole workout all on its own!
