Why don't any of the strenght training exercises carry a calories burned factor like the aerobic exercises do?
Doing 50 situps on a slant board has got to burn some calories as do all the weight lifting exercises.

Well the amount of calories burned per weightlifting exercise per set is insignificant as compared to aerobic exercise, however if you add a complete workout than the calories burned might be a significant amount.

For MFPs estimation of calories burned during strength training - you have to look in 'cardiovascular', odd as it may seem.

The strength training section is just for keeping track of your reps/sets/weight progress, if you choose to use it. I just write it on a paper that has my routine on it. To log it in the calories, look up strength training under the cardio section to get the estimated calories burned.
