Fit by 40

Hi! I usually don’t write on public platforms, but I’m hoping to connect to some like-minded ladies that are in the same boat. I’ll be turning 40 this year and have over 100 lbs to lose. Since having a kiddo, my weight has reached an all-time high, I think, due to stress and anxiety. I’d like to be actively releasing some weight this year and would love to connect with whomever may find themselves in a similar boat!

Hi, and welcome to MFP! I'm in a slightly different boat (li'l ol' lady long-time MFP-er in maintenance after loss), but I empathize with where you find yourself, having been inactive and obese myself back a few years.

You're smarter than I was, though: I didn't get started with being active, let alone losing weight, until my mid-40s *after* a cancer episode that would've been less likely had I been smarter, sooner. Good for you, starting now, and modeling a healthy thriving life for your little one (I'm betting that's the cutie in the picture?).

Like I said, I'm not a good buddy-candidate, but I wanted to welcome you and maybe suggest you check out threads in the Motivation & Support or Challenges parts of the Community: There are usually threads there for all kinds of different groups or interests, so I'm betting you can find some people to connect with. For convenience, here are direct links to those parts of the community forum:

Wishing you huge success with MFP in 2021!
