after doing 40 minutes on my elliptical last night my lower back is amazingly sore and stiff and i realize something must be off with my posture. I know head up, chest out, abs engaged. its my hips/pelvis/butt that is causing the issue. ive been googling away and have found conflicting results. push the pelvis forward vs stick the butt out. surely you cant do both at once. LOL
also, and this i think my be important, my hips roll forward naturally. i have loose ligaments and it is hard for me to pull it up and i have to focus on it to bring my hips up. if i bring my hips up my glutes are fully engaged making it hard to maintain that position.
anyways. can anyone help me out here? ive been looking for a good photo or something that shows proper posture on it. i think i need a visual.

I have to pull the pelvis up. I get back pain if I stick my butt out. I have to focus on it, too. It helps if I make sure to evenly distribute my weight on my feet. I noticed when I am pressing more with the balls of my feet that I tend to stick my butt out more then if I'm pressing with both my heels the front of my foot. Hope that helps!0

See if these 2 stretches help:
- hip flexors

- hip rotators

20 seconds each, done before the elliptical, and also a few times a day.
Lowering the incline may help.
Let us know how it goes!0 -

my machine is pretty cheap. it doesnt have an incline function.
i will do these exercises before going on tonight and see if that helps! thanks!0
